Fun Facts

A bit about me: I love Tetris, I collect books, I used to be a dog trainer, and I have four cats! I am a nature photographer; I love to experience the natural world and capture its beauty. I also love music, whether it is listening to music or playing instruments. When I have extra time, you can find me with my camera or reading a book with a cat on my lap!

About Me

One passion people quickly learn about me is that I LOVE helping people. In the past, I have been a middle school teacher, working one to one to give students the attention they need to learn. Currently, I am a writing tutor for graduate and doctorate students at my university. Whether it is with school work, personal growth, or life organization, I am fulfilled by helping people through their life journey through empathy and a growth-mindset.

Experience

I have two Masters degrees; one in Psychology and Child Development and another in Social Work. I am a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. I have tutored since I was in high school, have been a teacher for elementary and middle school students, and currently tutor graduate level and PhD level students. I have experience in multiple subjects including math, ELA, reading comprehension, science, psychology, life skills, and writing.

Approach

Throughout my life, I have always valued academics alongside positive mental health. It is important to lead with empathy and a growth-mindset in order to develop a sense of confidence and resilience in future endeavors. Providing positive reinforcement throughout tutoring sessions can help students understand that whatever they put their mind to, they can achieve!
