Fun Facts
I was trained as a professional badminton player in China and played the sport throughout my childhood before I moved to the country. Besides badminton, I have also learned to play its relatives - ping pong and tennis. I am always looking for friends to play the sports with me. in addition, I enjoy playing and solving Rubik's cubes. My current record for solving a 3-by-3 cube is one and a half minutes. I am also learning to solve 2-by-2 and 4-by-4 cubes.
About Me
I recently graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry. I am now pursuing a Master of Science degree in biochemistry and molecular biology at Georgetown University. After I graduate, I hope to continue furthering my education through a PhD program. My ultimate goal is to become a research scientist.
Experience
While in college, I aspired to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for chemistry and biology with others. Over the past three years, I taught organic chemistry and molecular biology and empowered students as active possessors of their learning in the scope of difficult science concepts. In addition, I also served as a tutor to teach ESL students math and science. Not only was I able to transmit knowledge, but I also showed them that they are capable and have a place in the field of science.
Approach
As a tutor, I aspire to share my enthusiasm for science with my students and want to make the subject fun to learn and study. I hope to use creative teaching/learning strategies to encourage my students' engagement in learning and heighten their motivation to search for the correct answer. Incorporating creativity and fun into my teaching, I hope to make difficult content digestible and empower students in their learning.
