About Me

Im a senior student at UMSL, graduating a semester early this December. I’ currently in the process of applying to optometry school, I work at an ophthalmologist office as an ophthalmic tech and scribe. I love studying and education is so precious to me, my long term goal for optometry is to teach at optometry school- practicing two things I love at the same time.

Experience

My experience in sciences goes beyond my studies in university. I spent this summer studying the OAT(optometry Addmission test) and this covered biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, reading comprehension and quantitative reasoning. This forced me to retrieve all information I was taught in undergraduate studies.

Approach

as a first generation student, I’ve struggled to do well academically until recently. I didn’t set high standards for myself because I didn’t think I was capable of doing better than bare minimum or average and this lead me to start my freshman year of college with 2.5 GPA. Once I challenged myself and convinced myself I’m capable I’ve continued to score high and see hard work pay off.
