Fun Facts
One of my favorite things to do, although I don't get to do it too often, is to go zip-lining! I also love to read. There's nothing better than curling up on the couch to read a good book on a rainy day. One thing I haven't done yet but would like to do in the near future is to go geocaching...this seems like it would be a lot of fun!
About Me
I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I earned my degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice with a GPA of 3.8 almost two years ago now. However, I have since decided that i want to dedicate my career to teaching high school math. I am currently working towards certification to become a math teacher in SC.
In my final semester at UNCC, I started thinking about teaching math and decided that charlotte">tutoring would be a good way to gain experience and see if teaching was for me. I was accepted to start charlotte">tutoring College Algebra. I tutored three times a week in a group setting, taking what I know the students learned in class that week and developing a group review. I then let the students work on their homework and helped them individually when needed. I really enjoyed my experience and it confirmed my decision to teach math for a career.
One of my favorite subjects to study when I was in school was math. Sounds crazy I know! The reason I enjoy it is because math is because it is one of the few subjects where you are either right or wrong; there is no in between. Once you master a technique you can solve any problem of that sort that comes your way. As a charlotte">tutor, I hope to be able to provide my students with an understanding of why math is so important to study and how it relates to everyday life.
