Some of my favorite things to do in life are traveling, skiing, and hiking in the mountains. I have two dogs, Champ and Sadie, who love to go on walks. I have two children who are also bilingual.

About Me

Hello, I am Teacher Mindy and I am so excited to meet you! I graduated with a Bachelor's degree from University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. I have a Master's in Education as well as a minor in Spanish from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. I have lived in Ecuador for two years, working as an English teacher, and one year in Costa Rica, working in development work.

Experience

I have 9 years of teaching experience at all levels, public and private. Over the last four years I have been teaching on-line. I have taught English as well as Reading Comprehension for students at preschool age all the way up to middle school.

Approach

I focus on building rapport, using engaging strategies, and personalizing learning for students so they can accelerate their learning. While teaching Spanish or ESL, I am a master at getting students to speak in full sentences in the target language, extending their sentences, incorporating a greater diversity of sentences, as well as helping them to perfect pronunciation.
