Fun Facts

Although math is my true love, my passion for languages is like no other. So far I have studied a little French, a little Chinese, and a lot of Spanish, but I plan to study languages for the rest of my life. Running is my therapy, even though I am terrible at it, and I am a very decent golfer. My cat is one of my best friends. And I love mac n cheese!

About Me

I am a sophomore at washington-university">George washington-university">Washington University studying Mathematics and Spanish. My overall GPA is 3.97, but my Math GPA is 3.9 and my Spanish GPA is 4.0. After college, I would love to attend graduate school to study Actuarial Sciences. Right now, my ideal career is to be an Actuary. I am a member of the Dean's List, and last year I earned the highest grade in my Linear Algebra class of 70 students.

In high school, I volunteered weekly with the National Honor Society, washington-dc">tutoring students in all subjects. This washington-dc">tutoring involved me helping students with homework assignments and studying for tests and quizzes. I volunteered monthly with the Mathematics Honor Society helping students specifically with math work. I also have worked as a private washington-dc">tutor outside of school with several students in a variety of subjects, including math, Spanish, and just as a general coach for staying organized and managing homework. In these scenarios, I acted as a supplemental resource to help them succeed in their classes.

I like to be very prepared, so as a washington-dc">tutor, I would make sure to study the material in depth before working with the student. By studying simultaneously with the student, I would be a more useful washington-dc">tutor because I would be able to identify the challenging areas of the material, and I would have the necessary knowledge to successfully answer questions and discuss concepts. I also appreciate the idea of practice. As a washington-dc">tutor, I would never just lecture the student with information they have already heard in class. Although I would do my best to break down material that the student finds confusing, I would focus more on applying the knowledge the student learned in the classroom through practice problems and exercises. I definitely believe in creating cheat sheets and study guides!
