My long term goal and a great interest of mine is to see the world! I have a strong passion to travel around the world, meeting new people, and immersing myself into the many cultures. I have spent time traveling thus far and have had amazing adventures to say the least! I love trying new foods, learning new dances, and making new friends everywhere my journey takes me!
About Me
I am originally from New York and new to the Boston area. I just graduated cum laude from Roger Williams University in May (2014). I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a certification grades 1-6 in Massachusetts. I completed my student teaching requirement in a first grade classroom at a private elementary school in Puerto Rico. I also student taught in an urban school in a fourth grade classroom. During the summer months, I live in the Hamptons working as a nanny and boston">tutor for several families.
I volunteered to boston">tutor/teach english to children in Barcelona, Spain when I studied there for a semester. I continued working with children when I returned from Spain in classroom settings. I have many lesson plans I created and I had the opportunity to implement most of them! During the summer, I boston">tutor a student in Spanish, incorporating many playful and engaging activities! boston">Tutoring is a passion of mine and I truly enjoy watching students grow as long life learners!
All students are unique. In light of this, I feel the most effective form of education is that which promotes a student’s confidence, thus allowing them to explore, ask questions, and take risks. As an educator/boston">tutor I vow to educate myself about my students, get to know them on both a personal and academic level, in order to better attend to their strengths and weaknesses. I incorporate engaging inquiry-based lessons and activities in order for students to explore their own thoughts and make their own discoveries!
