About Me

I am a 2021 college graduate located in Charlotte, NC. I studied Japanese, music, and ESL. I have a bachelors degree majoring in Japanese. I am able to speak, read, and write in Japanese, but I am not fluent. I am certified for teaching English as a second language.

I have been a musician for 8 years with my primary instrument being trombone. I studied music performance and theory in college before changing from a music degree to a Japanese degree. I have had plenty of experience teaching music over the years.

Experience

My most recent experience was a year as a tutor for an after school program for foreign language learners. I tutored students K-8.

Approach

I enjoy learning languages and have spent the past 4 years learning Japanese and other languages. I have been through the experience of learning a new language, as well as retaining and using the information I’ve learned outside of the classroom. I use my perspective as a teacher and student in order to help students grasp a better understanding.
