Fun Facts
I ardently support my husband's participation in the US Air Guitar community. Helping him come up with music, outfits, and "moves" has really made the competitions so much fun... so much so, I actually participated this year!
About Me
Hello! My name is Irene, and I have tutored, taught, and trained in various environments and with all ages of clientele. In May of 2021, I graduated with honors (4.0 GPA) in my master's program. My advanced degree is in education/colorado/denver">Special Education with an emphasis on applied behavior analysis (ABA).
l love working with all types of clients, but I have a special spot in my heart for those that struggle a little bit more than the others, due to being neuro-diverse.
Experience
I have experience working in a charter school as an ESL running a Reading Partners program in a Title I school, teaching, training caretakers at early education centers, and tutoring for several years in many different subjects. I am the mom of two teenage boys, both with special needs. Working with my kids helps make me a better tutor.
Approach
I have always loved teaching and tutoring. Helping others, no matter what their challenges, is what gets me excited each day. I firmly believe that sincere effort to teach another person something they are struggling with brings about success for the student as well as the tutor. Meeting learners not only where they are but understanding HOW they learn is what makes the difference between struggle and success.

My child development training was hands-on in an Early Development center, where I spent six years training new teachers in several age groups. Additionally, I became certified as a Child Development Professional, which I truly enjoyed.
Communication Tutoring
My bachelor's degree is in communications from Fitchburg State University, where I graduated with honors. I fully hold that taking classes and getting my degree in communications was one of the most rewarding and exciting part of my undergrad education.
Education Tutoring
I was an ESL teacher at a charter school, grades K-12. Writing lesson plans for the week was exciting and I couldn't wait to try them with my students. Additionally, my master's degree is in Special Education, which is a very rewarding topic to study and be involved.
English Tutoring
I am a native English speaker, and I have taught ESL for a charter school in Texas. I also tutored a gentleman from South Korea in English, organization, and how to navigate the culture of our city and the university he was attending.
ESL Tutoring
I was an ESL teacher for a K-12 charter school in Texas. It was not only a lot of fun not just teaching English, but also learning about other cultures. I enjoy being able to help give a new language meaning.
Graduate Level Writing Tutoring
I graduated with my master's degree in May of 2021. Not only did I have to write for each of my ten classes at the graduate level, but I also chose to do the Capstone option to graduate, which was a very lengthy paper. I also helped other graduate students with their writing, which I enjoyed.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
While at the early childhood learning center, I worked with students in the after school program, and reading was a top subject of need. For some students it was difficult, as they had a learning disability or were not native English speakers. Working together, not only did I teach, but put together a mentor program so classmates could effectively help one another.
Religion Tutoring
I have always been fascinated by religions. The Judaism and Early Christianity course I took in college inspired me to fall in love with different religions and belief systems. On my own, I read extensively on the subject.
Study Skills Tutoring
Tutoring Study Skills is one of my favorite topics. I have always been on-top of my studies. While getting my 1,500hrs of field study during my master's program, I had the opportunity to work with primarily neurodiverse students, and individualizing each student's program based on their abilities.
Writing Tutoring
I have done quite a bit of writing, through both my bachelor's and master's degrees. What a lot of people don't know, is that I have also written a screenplay and a published book. Writing is how I learn, and is a passion of mine.
Writing Advance Tutoring
Writing during both my bachelor's and master's degrees prepared me to help tutor my classmates at both universities. I also worked closely with the Head of the Special Education Department, as she was a timid writer, attempting to receive additional funding. And, they got it!
AP English Tutoring
I took Honors English in high school, and took College English, with A's in both programs. I also took classes on poetry, script writing and detective fiction. I am also an eager reader and always have a few books going at a time.
AP History Tutoring
I had a close friend getting his degree in history, and we would talk and study together. He drew me into the world that was behind the history written by only winners. This was an amazing concept, and I use various lesser-known voices to enrich my tutoring students' learning.
German Tutoring
Hallo! I was entranced by German at a young age, and took it all four years in high school. Entering college, I tested out of College German I, and later created my own college German class as an independent study.

Social Studies Tutoring
Social studies encompasses so much within a society, the topics of interest are of wide variety.
