
Fun Facts
One fun fact about me is that in the winter I think about the summer and in the summer I think about the winter! I enjoy living in the northeast and embrace the change of seasons, and in general positive change! It is also why I enjoy working with so many different and wonderful students, seeing them succeed and move on to the next step.
About Me
I am passionate about teaching . One of my most significant decisions was transitioning from my life experience as an accountant to the completion of a master degree in education. I envisioned myself transferring my knowledge to other people by enriching, enlightening and transforming their personal and professional lives . Students thrive by seeing my teachings as relevant to their daily lives and enjoy seeing new perspectives in a fast- paced changing world.
Experience
I have been teaching math at K-12 levels, including ELL students, and I am currently mentoring students on a one-on-one basis in an after-school program. My focus has been to follow the state standards together with the common core curriculum. The subjects covered are: Math 7 and 8, Algebra I and II, geometry and statistics. My technical expertise, creative abilities, and leading experience as an educator, makes me the ideal candidate to help new students thrive at Frog Tutoring.
Approach
A student-centered approach is core to my philosophy, including personalized learning, conceptual understanding, knowledge of what motivates students, and an integration of a respectful and safe climate where students thrive and learn through trial and error. In my teaching I have implemented visual, auditory, and kinesthetic strategies. As a bilingual educator, I appreciate and understand diverse cultures and support students learning with adaptability, compassion, and problem-solving abilities
