A fun fact about me is that I love all things anime and video game related! Anime to me is just such an interesting style of animation and the stories told in the different shows just touch my heart! Also even though I’m bad at video games, I still love to play them as much as I can!

About Me

Hello! My name is Raven Collier and I am a senior at Georgia State University! I have two majors and two minors, my majors are Film & Media and Psychology while my minors are English and African American Studies! When I graduate this year, I plan to get my Master’s in both of my degrees and fulfill my dream of becoming a scriptwriter while using my psychology experience to create more relatable characters.

Experience

My main experience with tutoring comes from being a Supplemental Instructor at Georgia State University for Psychology! In this role I worked side by side with the Professor for Intro To Psychology and throughout our collaboration I created session plans and helped multiple students who were struggling with Psychology succeed! I also am a Tutor for Bespoke Tutoring where I have received training to aid me even further in my tutoring abilities. I have also been on the Dean’s & President’s list!

Approach

I believe the best approach to tutoring is what I call a PSA,(Patience,Support,Attention). Patience is essential when tutoring because you may need to repeat yourself or go over concepts multiple times but you have to remain patient. Support is crucial in showing the student you care and are empathetic. Attention shows a student that they have your full attention and that you will do your best to help them during a session. These three ideas together to me are a perfect approach in a tutor!
