Fun Facts

Something I enjoy a lot, even though I am not the best at it, is singing. I love singing when I'm driving in my car. I also like to dance and play sports. I am also very excited to become an elementary school teacher soon. I am really close with my family and am the middle child out of 3; all girls.

About Me

I am a credential student at fresno-state-university">Fresno State University. I received my BA degree in education on May 2013. I will be a credentialed elementary school teacher by December 2014. I have been on the Dean's List a total of 4 times and on the President's List 1 time. Throughout my credential program I have maintained a 4.0 gpa the entire time.

Experience

I have worked for an After School Program fresno">Tutoring Program called California Teaching Fellows for 4 years fresno">tutoring a whole class during homework, and Science and ELA enrichment content. After leaving Teaching Fellows due to having a tighter school schedule, I began working for California Mini Corps. I have been with Mini-Corps for a year and a half now. As a Mini-Corps fresno">tutor, I have provided in class support for migrant students during their regular school time. I also am now in the 3rd phase o

Approach

Through out my experience working with children, I have learned the importance of intrinsic motivation. For this reason, I greatly try to make each of my students enjoy the subject. In order to do this, I ask students critical thinking questions because I feel that it is important for students to arrive at the correct answer on their own so they experience the feeling of accomplishment. Slowly as students succeed in the subject, they begin to enjoy themselves more and more.
