Fun Facts

I grew up across three different continents: North America, South America, and Europe! Because of this, I speak a lovely mix of both Spanish and Italian, much to the chagrin of my Italian friends who always ask me why I'm slipping Spanish words into my sentences!

About Me

I am a former global health advocacy and communications professional, who has written up large-scale campaigns for the World Health Organization, the United Nations, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and more. But I always knew I had a different calling---being an educator and sharing my love of English, literature, and learning. I recently switched fields and work at a quaint bookstore. I have more than ten years experience in tutoring, beginning when I was just 16 years old. The one constant through my high school, college, and post-college careers was the fact that I tutored in my free time!

Experience

I began tutoring when I was 16 years old, helping coach my younger sister through tough science classes--and ultimately solidifying her passion for biology and science! Since then, I have made it my goal to always tutor in my free time, which has included helping high school students prep for the SATs and their AP classes, teaching international students essay-writing skills, and establishing mentorship programs to help students with study skills, organization, and short- and long-term planning.

Approach

Every child learns differently, and whenever a parent tells me their child has a negative reaction to the thought of learning, I make it my goal to figure out what methods work best for each individual. This means that I will take my normal tutoring approach, which is led with positive reinforcement, confidence building, and compassion, and adapt it to the type of learner the student
