Fun Facts

My hobbies include reading, writing, surfing, singing and snowboarding. I lived in Australia for four months studying abroad. I have also traveled throughout Europe singing with a music group. I have sang in the Salzburg Cathedral where Mozart was baptized. I love participating in the community and have an extensive background in volunteer work. I am passionate about education and learning.

About Me

I graduated this May (2014) from St. Francis College in Brooklyn with a BA in Communications with a concentration in English. I also have a minor in Psychology. I graduated from the Honors Program with a 3.7 GPA. I worked as the editor in chief of the Honors Program newsletter during my time at SFC and additionally worked as a teacher assistant for the Chairperson of the Foreign Languages, Fine Arts, and International Cultural Studies Department. I plan to teach English overseas as a second language.

I have never been officially employed as a brooklyn">tutor, but I do have experience with teaching students of all ages. I interned with an art education program where I assisted young children in the classroom and researched new methods of teaching them. As previously mentioned, I worked as a teacher assistant at the college. I have also tutored family and friends (free of charge) with homework and writing essays ranging from elementary to college education.

With a creative and musical background, I tend to enjoy a kinesthetic style of learning. I believe that hands-on activities, songs, and poems are often helpful for retaining information. I am extremely patient with students which I believe to be essential for teaching. Since I am passionate about learning, I am able to bring forth a positive attitude and level of energy needed for engaging students.
