Fun Facts
I love science, but biology is my favorite category of science. I love watching scientific YouTube videos or reading articles about new scientific discoveries. If I'm not reading or watching something, then I'm probably playing video games.
About Me
I am a sophomore studying Civil Engineering at New York University. I'm the middle child of three kids. I was born in North Carolina but enjoy living in New York.
Experience
I worked in the America Reads/America Counts program to help tutor fourth graders with math and reading/writing. I volunteered as a summer camp counselor in a science camp designed to teach kids scientific concepts. Many of my friends know me as someone who is great at explaining things they don't understand.
Approach
I try to make sure that the student understands each step that I'm doing. I don't move on to the next step or begin talking about a new thing until the students understands what I'm doing. It doesn't help to cover new topics if the old topics don't make sense.

Math Tutoring
I performed well in my math classes in middle school, earning As.
Reading Tutoring
I was a stellar student in my middle school English classes. I performed well on tests and wrote excellent papers.
Science Tutoring
I've completed chemistry, biology, and earth and environmental science. I earned As in all courses.
Trigonometry Tutoring
Trigonometry was a key component in my high school math classes. Finding the sine, cosine, and tangent of any angle in a triangle is no problem for me.
Writing Tutoring
I was required to write many essays throughout high school and received good grades on all of them. I did exceptionally well in my college writing classes also, earning As.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I received As in my high school English courses.
SAT Math Tutoring
My math SAT score was 790 (out of a maximum 800). I received As in all of my high school math courses.
English Tutoring
I received As in my high school English courses.
Geometry Tutoring
Although I didn't take a dedicated geometry class in high school, many of my classes incorporated the subject. Calculating area, surface area, and volume of various different shapes is something I'm a master at.
Pre Algebra Tutoring
I received As in all of my middle school math classes that involved Pre-Algebra.
Algebra Tutoring
I took Math I and Math II in high school, which both contained some Algebra content. I received an A in both.
Algebra II Tutoring
I took Math II and Math III in high school, which both contained some Algebra II content. I received an A in both.
Biology Tutoring
I took honors biology as well as IB SL biology (which is somewhere in between high school and college level biology). I received an A in both courses.
Microsoft Excel Tutoring
I have no trouble preparing spreadsheets. I know how to edit fonts, add equations, and organize tables of information.
Microsoft PowerPoint Tutoring
I've used PowerPoint on numerous occasions to prepare presentations. I know how to change themes, add slide transitions, edit fonts, and insert videos onto slides.
Microsoft Word Tutoring
I've written essays for many years using Word. I understand how to change fonts and how to insert special equations or symbols.
