Fun Facts

This question is always so hard to answer! One fun fact about me is that I am one of 6 girls in my family (and I am the baby) so I grew up around a lot of people.

About Me

I am a junior Biology major at Boston College and I am very passionate about my field. I also have a passion for languages, and since a very young age I have been tutoring people in English and Writing. I enjoy being able to help students and watch them improve!

Experience

I have had many years of experience tutoring my peers and have always been the person my friends turn to when they are struggling with school. I also volunteered as a tutor through my High School and taught in basically every subject. I have discovered that I love tutoring, and while I haven't had as much time in college up until now, I continue to tutor my nieces and friends who struggle with languages.

Approach

When it comes to tutoring I have found that most people respond really well to positive reinforcement. Many people seem to have a sense of embarrassment around tutoring, which I do not think is beneficial for anyone. We all need help from time to time (I know I have gone to tutors while in college). By letting the student communicate their needs, and by understanding their learning style, I have found people seem to have better results. Optimism and encouragement are definitely the best approach
