About Me

I am a current graduate student at Emerson College, currently working towards a Masters in Fine Arts in Creative Writing. My undergraduate degree is from Arizona State University, where I studied literature.

Experience

I have tutored all age ranges from K-12, including math and literature for Arizona state testing; furthermore, I have worked full-time as a high school English teacher, teaching 11th and 12th grade English, Creative Writing, and Humanities.

Approach

Writing and literature have been such critical parts of my life, and I feel that literature is the perfect subject for connecting with students and their lives. With that, I believe in an empathic approach to teaching, which means first, getting to truly know my students so that I can get a sense of them and how they will connect to what they are reading and studying in class. As a tutor, my job is to create that individualized connection where teachers can't in a room full of students.
