About Me

I am a soon to be retired Texas teacher. I have taught for 28 years, and I am ready to have a flexible schedule and still share the love of reading with students.

Experience

I have taught a total of 28 years. I have been in a self-contained classroom from grades 1-5. For the last 19 years, I have taught Reading/ELA to Junior High students. During this time ,I was responsible for three reading-/texas/waco">STAAR Reading preps as well as ELA classes.

Approach

I believe that it is vital to create a positive environment that promotes the love of learning. I do my best to ensure a fun, learning atmosphere by creating exciting, TEKS based lesson that expose students to books and text that they find meaning. In return, I feel that students will have a positive attitude toward reading and become life-long readers and learners.
