About Me
Hello! My name is Noelle, and I am a math and science tutor in the Atlanta area.
I graduated from Ohio University in 2021 with a BS in Neuroscience and minors in mathematics and biological sciences. I am currently a Brains and Behavior Fellow at Georgia State University pursuing an MA in Philosophy.
Neuroscience is my passion! I hope to work in neuroscience research or communication for the rest of my life.
Experience
I earned a tutoring certification from College Reading & Learning Association in 2019 through my job at Ohio University. I started tutoring for Ohio U's Math and Science Center in 2018, and was promoted to Lead Math Tutor in 2020. I have been tutoring middle, high school, and college students in math and science ever since. I have also recently been refreshing my standardized test tutoring skills to help high schoolers prepare for the math/georgia/atlanta">ACT math and science sections.
Approach
I have worked with students at a variety of skill levels. It's important to me to understand each individual student's goals so that I can tailor an approach to help them succeed. My goal is not to give you the answers, but to give you the tools you need to find the answers yourself.

I tutored students in Ohio University's Calculus I course, Math 2301, from 2018 to 2021. As a lead tutor at Ohio U, I also trained other tutors to help students in this course.
Math Tutoring
I was a tutor at Ohio University's math and science center from 2018 to 2021. I primarily worked with students taking math courses ranging from intermediate algebra (Math D005) to Calculus I (Math 2301). In 2020, I was promoted to lead math tutor.
Trigonometry Tutoring
I tutored students in Ohio University's math courses, including pre-calculus and Calculus I, from 2018 to 2021. These courses deal directly with trigonometry. As a lead tutor at Ohio U, I also trained other tutors to help students in this area.
Business Calculus Tutoring
I tutored students in Ohio University's survey of calculus course, Math 1350, from 2018 to 2021. This course is taken by business students at OU and includes applications of calculus to business. As a lead tutor at Ohio U, I also trained other tutors to help students in this course.
Pre Algebra Tutoring
I tutored intermediate algebra (Math D005) and college algebra (Math 1200) at Ohio University from 2018-2021. As lead math tutor at OU, I also trained other tutors to teach students in these subjects.

I have a B.S. in neuroscience. At Ohio University, I worked as a Biological Sciences Ambassador for the Department of Biological Sciences as well as a research assistant in Dr. Mitchell Day's auditory neurophysiology lab. I am currently a Brains and Behavior Fellow at Georgia State University.
Biology AP Tutoring
I have a B.S. in neuroscience. In high school. I got a 5 on the AP Bio exam. I have recently gotten more experience tutoring biology at the high school level.
Calculus Tutoring
I took AP Calculus in high school, earning a 5, and Calculus II and III at Ohio University earning As in both. I tutored calculus classes at OU for 3 years.

I took AP Calculus AB in high school, earning a 5. I took Calculus II and III in college, earning As in both. I tutored students in calculus courses for 3 years at Ohio University.
Chemistry Tutoring
As a neuroscience student at Ohio University, I took general chemistry I and II as well as organic chemistry I and II. I have maintained a working familiarity with chemistry through my work in neuroscience research and as a tutor for local high schoolers.

I earned a 35 on the ACT in 2016. I have worked as a mathematics tutor since 2018, and this year I have been refreshing my test taking skills and ACT structural knowledge to prepare students to succeed on the math and science portions.
