About Me
I am currently a graduate student at The College of New Jersey. I'm working towards my Masters in Education with a specialization in Teaching English as a Second Language. I also have a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Business Economics from Rutgers University.
Experience
I have two years of experience Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL). I taught 1st and 2nd grade ESL in Thailand from 2019-2021. I also tutored high school students during this time. I've spent the past academic year working as a Long-Term Substitute Teacher in New Jersey while working towards completing my NJ teaching certification and Masters in Education. I will be a certified teacher as of August 2023 and I'll have my M.Ed. in August of 2024.
Approach
Connection and positive reinforcement are the two essential pieces of my teaching style. If the subject seems dull, it's much harder to learn the information. I make sure to present material in an engaging and enthusiastic manner. I approach all students with empathy and compassion.
