Fun Facts

All of my friends know that I spend my free time solving and developing puzzles. From crosswords to variant Sudoku to Chess and Go puzzles, I'm often scouring over a notebook. To expand on my ability to create and tinker with puzzles, I'm learning to code games and puzzle platforms in Godot, an open-source game engine.

About Me

I am a senior at Washington University in St. Louis studying Mathematics and Secondary Education with a minor in Sociology. I'm interested in expanding on my experience as an educator before entering the field full time within a year. Long term, I'm hoping to attend a graduate program in Ecology and Agriculture Education at the University of California, Berkeley. I'm constantly learning myself--right now I'm auto-educating to program video games in Godot Script.

Experience

Throughout high school, I tutored K-12 students in math subjects ranging from elementary to calculus. Now, as an undergraduate students, I'm working my way through a double major in Mathematics and Secondary Education--I intend to graduate with my first teaching credential here in Missouri. This past Spring, I worked for several months as an intern at an educational farm, where I led informational tours and lesson-style workshops in cooking, baking, and basic plant care.

Approach

As a young trans girl, I struggled to find my place in classrooms. I found that I doubted my every thought; I rarely raised a hand, even when I knew what I'd say if I did. Support at home blessed me. My mom saw the difference: how passionately I engaged with my hobbies at home, but how timidly I approached homework, my fear of school overwhelming me.
