Fun Facts

My love for my cat, Max, knows no bounds. I love seeing pictures of other people's pets and showing them pictures of Max. I was on the women's gymnastics team at Stanford, and had been a competitive gymnast for about 12 years prior. I am still a very active person who enjoys long hikes, archery, and splashing in the waves at the beach.

About Me

I am a recent graduate from Stanford University with a degree in Biomechanical Engineering. I recently conducted research on a shoulder abduction device to aid stroke survivor mobility, and I hope to continue in the medical device field in the future.

Experience

I began tutoring for hire in high school, but I began teaching by helping my younger sister and friends with their homework and studies. I have 8 years of experience, and I have worked with a large variety of children including special needs children.

Approach

I loved learning when I was in elementary school. However, as I moved through the education system I lost that passion and sense of exploration. I believe the best learning occurs when the student is interested and invested in what they are learning and when they are not afraid to fail, so my primary goal for any student I work with is to nurture a passion for what they are learning through encouraging failure and project based learning.
