About Me
I am a senior Social Work major and undergraduate researcher at the University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire. I am passionate about working with students to achieve their educational goals. Everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed in their education. After graduation I plan to attends a masters program in social work with a focus on refugee and forced migration studies.
Experience
I have volunteered as a tutor, grant writer, and reading group host with Learn To Be for over two years. For the last six months I have been an English as a Second Language tutor at Forging Opportunities for Refugees. I have experience as an instructional assistant in social work courses, as well as experience in coaching. Currently, I work as a skills trainer for persons with disabilities.
Approach
I utilize a strengths-based approach to tutoring. No student learns the same, and for this reason I utilize multiple different techniques when working with students. In our first session we will talk about what methods of learning the student finds to be most helpful.
