Fun Facts

I consider myself a unique mix of studious and adventurous. While I spend my fair share of time holed up in the library doing homework, I am quite a thrill seeker. Skateboarding, snowboarding, skiing (both snow and water), and scuba diving are some of my favorite things to do. My other interests include, but are DEFINITELY not limited to: running, reading, piano, writing, movies, hanging out with friends and family, and creativity in general.

About Me

My name is Chase, and I am an English major at the chicago">University of Illinois at Chicago. Although it may sound nerdy and unbelievable, I absolutely LOVE the literature I read. Every piece I read is chock full of fascinating ideas, and after I'm finished, my initial thought is always "wow." I've also taken numerous courses in the sciences, and find chemistry and biology extremely interesting. I plan on attending graduate school after earning my Bachelor's degree, and I aspire to become a college professor.

I sincerely enjoy and value learning in all of its forms, whether reading, writing, problem solving, discussion, or even memorization. To me, learning is exploration and shouldn't be reduced to a rigid, generic process (like most classroom education). Every student has his/her own way of learning, and my goal as a chicago">tutor is to accommodate every student's individual learning needs and styles. When I chicago">tutor, I encourage students to actually understand - not regurgitate - what they learn in class, and I use every teaching method possible to help students fully grasp the material.

In the past, I have tutored in both Algebra 2 and Spanish. I found that when the students I tutored actually understood the material, they became truly excited about learning. After six months of working with me, one student raised his Algebra 2 grade from a D to a B and his Spanish grade from a C+ to an A-.
