About Me

My name is Mark connecticut/durham">durham">connecticut/durham">Durham; I am 25 and a student at houston">the houston">University of Houston, pursuing Aerospace Engineering. I have lived in Houston for about a year. When I graduate, I plan to pursue a masters degree in aerospace engineering, and continue working in the aerospace industry to design and build the future rockets of space exploration.

For Mathematics, I have taken College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III, Linear Algebra, and Ordinary Differential Equations, receiving an A in all courses. I am one math credit away from receiving a minor in mathematics. I have tutored classmates and other students. I have not tutored officially; however, I am confident in my math skills and houston">tutoring ability. I have lots of experience and have never received a grade lower than an A in any mathematics class since beginning my college career.

As a high school student, I was not very good in school. I did not understand the material, and, unfortunately, did not have the motivation to work. After high school, I traveled and began to learn how to study and understand material. When I started college, in my 20's, I had a new light on education and began to implement that into my own learning. I have created new and fun ways to learn and study math, that has not only helped me succeed, but also my classmates. I believe that patience and communication is the key to teaching students when they are struggling. Additionally, the key to success is finding multiple ways of explaining. If one form of explanation does not work, it is illogical to continue down that path, and one must discovery a new approach to connect with the student.
