A couple of things people will find out about me very quickly is I love the outdoors and reading. I love to hike and be outdoors as much as I can. I read various novels, most of them are in the sci-fi and fantasy genre, and I love to bake.

About Me

I am a biologist experienced in research and teaching. Involved in research on a wide variety of organisms both endangered and invasive. Experienced in teaching students of all ages, in various disciplines of science, both in and out of the classroom setting. Passionate about the environment, learning all there is to learn, and sharing what I learn.

Experience

Conducted research, in various areas. Experienced in identifying organisms in the lab and field both plant and animal, by dichotomous keys, sight, sound, and tracks. Habitat assessment and surveying, using various methods to sample. Given presentations for meetings, classrooms, and workshops. Have been an online tutor for over 2 years, have tutored on various disciplines of science, tutoring students of all ages.

Approach

The best way I can describe my teaching philosophy is by my interpretation of the instructor’s duty: it is the responsibility and duty of the instructor to impart the information to the students, in a way that it is understandable and applicable to the students. A teacher must have an intense passion for teaching and the ability to show genuine emotions. Genuine emotions show the character of the person, and the passion they have for the subject matter.
