Fun Facts
One thing I like is playing video games and tabletop games such as D&D. It is really fun writing lore and such things when preparing for games! I also enjoy singing, which is why you may catch me humming to the tune of a classic rock song or singing along to a ballad of sorts.
About Me
I'm currently employed as a paraprofessional during the week, allowing me to continue challenging myself within tutoring as a whole. For this, I tutor for Algebra I. I have nearly completed my Communications degree, only ten credit hours away, and am excited to get along with those I teach!
My approach is hands-on: I prefer allowing the client to wade through the waters as I guide them as I believe this is the best way to learn. If this approach is unfruitful, I am adaptive and am open to grow, so please give me feedback on my approach!
Experience
Aside from my current work as a paraprofessional, I had the opportunity to help those around me as I was Salutatorian in high school, taking dual-credit courses as those around me came to me for assistance since the subjects in school came easy to me. My best subjects include English and Mathematics, as they are what I enjoy the most!
Approach
Since I had an easier time when I was in school, I hope to help those I tutor by trying to find out how they learn, rather than shove the material in their face. While that approach worked for me, it does not work for most, since there is not a notable pattern in some instances for those struggling to latch onto.

Pre Algebra Tutoring
My grade in Pre-Algebra during my time in grade school was an A easily, as it came easy to me during my time there. I often tutored my own peers in this as it was difficult for them to grasp, with the addition of letters to numbers and all. As such, it should be simple to help someone grasp any portion of it regardless of their inherent aptitude for it.
Algebra Tutoring
In Algebra, the work was a bit more difficult for me than Pre-Algebra was, but my grade in the subject was still an "A" when I was in grade school, with my inherent aptitude letting me understand the subject much better than my peers. As such, I was often asked for assistance like before, and I keep myself at least somewhat refreshed on the subject along with the other Math and English topics. With the help of the lesson plan, it should be simple to tutor someone in it consistently.
This is also what I am currently tutoring for as a paraprofessional.
Algebra II Tutoring
Algebra II, as an extension from Algebra I, was a logical progression I understood in grade school, garnering me another A under my belt. As many of my peers were struggling still and less likely to shy away from receiving assistance, this area is likely my most practiced among the math subjects when it comes to tutoring. With a slight refresher on the topics being covered, I am sure to bring someone up that is struggling in this department.
English Tutoring
English has always been one of my favorite subjects, encompassing reading, writing, and speaking publicly, all of which I do frequently. Understanding the meaning of literature from a literal and emotional perspective is something I pride myself on, this being shown by my high 'As' in all of my English courses or things that involve writing, whether that be essays, reading comprehension, or otherwise. My peers also sought my help with grammar and other English work as well, in both my undergraduate work and my grade school days, making my experience tutoring this subject expansive and relatively recent.
Math Tutoring
Mathematics, while coming second to English in terms of my proficiency, is still something I practice everyday for retention. Many of the ideas from Algebra and other math related topics are still relatively fresh in my mind, though specifics would require a refresher. My peers in grade school as well as teachers would ask for my assistance in tutoring, so my experience is there, albeit less expansive than my experience in English tutoring.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
As I consistently read novels and other such literature, reading comprehension is second nature to me, reflected by my high As in English-related courses in relation to this topic, such as reviewing Shakespeare's works or the poetry of the Romantic period. My confidence in this topic is also high, as I have successfully elaborated on these ideas that are presented by the literature to others, broadening their understanding and improving their performance in the classes in the instance of tutoring.
Writing Tutoring
Writing is one of my pastimes, whether it be prose or poetry. I believe that I truly shine in this department, as I rarely make grammatical errors whilst also getting across my point concisely during the course of an essay or other prose topics and conveying my emotions through my poems. Tutoring this subject is my favorite, as I like improving upon the writing of others in grammar and finding the right words to sound the ideas that they want to convey, backed up by the high A grade that I received in my college-level writing courses during my high school dual-credit courses and beyond into my time in university.
