Fun Facts
Fun Fact: I'm terrible at coming up with fun facts about myself, but I love miami">tutoring. I'm the third youngest of seven, but was the first among my siblings to get a college degree, which I earned at the same time I graduated high school. Although probably not the best use of my time, I have started gaming again with my roommate and we are found playing Skyrim in most of our free time.
About Me
I'm a junior at Florida International University, majoring in Biomedical Engineering. I have an Associate's Degree from high school dual enrollment at Broward College. While this is still my first year at FIU, I had a 3.86 at Broward. After college I'm hoping to go to cincinnati">University of Cincinnati's Pharmacy School to earn a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences/drug development. Eventually I would like to work in research for drug targeting and delivery systems.
In high school, I started out miami">tutoring when I was learning Precalculus/ Trigonometry and my teacher asked some of the students to help the College Algebra kids. My friends often went to me with questions from class. I later began miami">tutoring children at the local elementary school. Eventually, I also volunteered at the Broward College STEM Center miami">tutoring Chemistry and any kind of math course. I even helped students outside my expertise understand some problems from their textbook when there was no miami">tutor for them. I've tutored with miami">Tutor.com and communicated through text and virtual whiteboards. Really, miami">tutoring is one of my best skills, because I enjoy helping people so much.
I always find that a miami">tutor must be able to adapt to the student. We all learn in different in ways; that's why some of us have so much trouble in class. The teacher can only show us one way. As a miami">tutor, I try to find the best way to teach the student. Usually, I guide them through the work and ask them questions along the way, breaking down concepts until I know they understand how something works. Sometimes, I even use some quirky examples to help it make sense. Everyone can memorize, but we only learn when we know the how's and why's.
