Fun Facts

I am a cellist and have been since high school, and I am a published short fiction author. I love working with students in a one-on-one setting. I am in my mid-20s and enjoy connecting with middle school to college-age students.

About Me

I am currently working toward obtaining my Master's in Education and intend to return for a Ph.D. after I spend a few years in a high school classroom. Right now, I teach a few English classes at a local high school.

Experience

In college, I worked at the Disability Resource Center to help tutor students with disabilities, so I have plenty of experience working with students who require additional academic help.
I received my BA in English and BS in Education in 2021. While obtaining my BS and Master's in Education, I learned various teaching techniques. I am an expert academic and creative writer. I have studied British and American literature and can assist with common high school texts.

Approach

Because I have tangible teaching experience, I can confidently say that my students are most successful when I take the time to get to know them and their learning needs. Every student has the capacity to succeed; some just need extra support to get there. As a tutor, my role will be to provide that support by offering one-on-one instruction, modified activities, reading assistance, and specialized study techniques (individualized pneumonic devices, peg words, chucking, etc.).
