Fun Facts
I have many creative interests and passions! If I'm not painting or woodworking, you might find me teaching Zumba classes or dancing salsa with friends. On a quiet day, you might find me studying Spanish or Korean!
About Me
I am a highly focused, energetic and organized teacher! I am passionate about personal growth and excellence. I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies in 2003, and received my credential in May of 2004. I have fifteen years of experience in education and over two years of experience in tutoring.
Experience
I hold a Multiple Subject Credential with English Language Acquisition (ELA) certification from the California State University of Sacramento. In addition, I am certified in Guided Language Acquisition and Development (GLAD). I have taught at the elementary level for over thirteen years and have served bilingual populations locally.
Approach
My philosophy for teaching is focused on each individual student with a holistic perspective on their educational experience. Primary I start by seeking to find the gold in each student and selecting resources and strategies that cause them to flourish. I also encourage students to be self-aware to choose methods that work best for them and then reflectively evaluate their progress toward their goals. I love to see my students succeed!
