Fun Facts
One passion people quickly learn about me is that I love music! Any time I have a chance to sing, play guitar or dance I'm participating. I am a mother to three adult children, two boys and a girl and live in Connecticut. Someday soon, I hope to learn how to sail.
About Me
I am a semi-retired elementary school teacher. I enjoy teaching students the power of reading. It is so wonderful to see a student learn to read, it opens up a whole new world for them. I am also skilled in teaching math. I try to relate math to the world around the student, so they understand that math is everywhere and an important part of learning and growing.
Experience
I taught school for 18 years in both the public and private sectors. The grades that I instructed were 5th, 1st, and Kindergarten. Tutoring allows me to stay connected with teaching and to continue to impact even more lives of students that need help.
Approach
Though out my experience in teaching reading I have honed my skills to differentiate instruction to match the student's strengths while also teaching them important basic skills. I use this style of instruction to teach across the curriculum from math to science and social studies.
