My favorite food is cupcakes. I love to bake, but I hate to cook. Reading is one of my favorite activities. My nails are always painted. Your child's education is extremely important to me.

About Me

My name is Rachel Leavitt-Baron, I am originally from washington/seattle">Seattle, WA where I attended washington/seattle">Seattle Academy. I then attended Goucher College in maryland/baltimore">Baltimore, MD where I studied Psychology and Secondary Education. I have taught English in Israel and South Africa and for three years in residential treatment centers. I am now on my third year teaching education/massachusetts/boston">special education in urban schools in Boston.

I have been boston">tutoring students of al ages since I was 14 years old. I started at Kumon Math and Reading Center where I was a math, reading and writing boston">tutor. Other than that I have tutored almost all subjects, all ages and both girls and boys. In addition, I have spent most of time time teaching and boston">tutoring students with learning disabilities and emotional and behavioral disorders.

When I am boston">tutoring a student the environment is very structured and organized. First I see what needs to be accomplished and we make a list of what needs to get done first. We slowly get through what needs to get done off of the list or agenda, tackling each item until the student is confident that the assignment is either done well or the student has learned the material.
