About Me
I'm in my 16th year as an elementary teacher. I am a wife and mother to two boys. We enjoy being tourists in our city and cheering on St. Louis sports. Our boys keep us busy with their sports, but we find time to go camping in our lounge in our pool
Experience
During my 16 years as an elementary teacher, I have been able to experience teaching grades first through fifth, and I have had the opportunity to work with students of varying abilities on subjects such as English Language Arts, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I have also spent time preparing students for test taking at multiple grade levels.
Approach
I commit to teaching the whole child. I present a variety of resources and problem-solving skills to students to have in their "toolbox" so they have the confidence they need to be successful in the work they are doing.

Elementary Education
Elementary Math Tutoring
I have experience as a classroom teacher teaching grades 1-5. I teach all general education subjects in those grades, including mathematics. Math is one of my favorite subjects to teach.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I have experience as a classroom teacher teaching grades 1-5. I teach all general education subjects in those grades, including reading foundational skills and reading comprehension. I teach both while class and small group, based on student need.
Science Tutoring
I have experience as a classroom teacher teaching grades 1-5. I teach all general education subjects in those grades, including science. At each grade level, physical science, life science, and earth science are all included.
Social Studies Tutoring
I have experience as a classroom teacher teaching grades 1-5. I teach all general education subjects in those grades, including social studies. Social Studies standards can vary from state to state, but can easily be looked up in order to pin point the learning objective.
Study Skills Tutoring
I have experience as a classroom teacher teaching grades 1-5. I teach all general education subjects in those grades, We take diagnostic, district, and state tests at each grade level. In order to gather true data, I would teach my students how to successfully navigate the test, take appropriate notes, review notes, find important information to highlight, etc.
Writing Tutoring
I have experience as a classroom teacher teaching grades 1-5. I teach all general education subjects in those grades, including written expression. Writing takes place across all subjects, but there is also time set aside for specific writing skills focused on the writing traits, process, and genres.
