Fun Facts

I have many different hobbies but am a very avid car enthusiast. I greatly enjoy race cars and have been to the Bakersfield Speedway and the drag races in Los Angelis. I plan on attending the Nascar races one day soon! I also enjoy reading and am a huge book enthusiast. Some of my favorite books are "The Great Gatsby," and :Fahrenheit 451."

About Me

I am an English professor with a Masters degree in English and Writing. I currently teach at Bakersfield College and California State University, Bakersfield. I have a great passion for English, specifically writing, and helping others learn the art of writing. I have background in journalism and do some freelance writing and tutoring when I have free time.

Experience

I have tutored or taught in some capacity for the past 6 years. As your tutor, you can expect me to be reliable, have a flexible schedule, and tutor with energy and enthusiasm. I enjoy working with students at various levels of learning from middle school to college. I also have been an educator for high school and college and have taught English Composition, English GATE, and English CP.

Approach

As a teacher and lifelong learner, I believe that everyone has a different method of learning or grasping new material. I believe in teaching both the material and the art of effective studying, which includes annotations and critical thinking. I also believe in being a flexible and patient tutor.
