Fun Facts

Everyone knows how much I love cross-country running. A state qualifier in high school, fitness continues to play an important role in my life. I love spending time with my family hanging out in the mountains, watching movies, and playing board games. While I'm quiet at first, my friends will tell you that I love making people laugh and would love to try stand-up comedy one day.

About Me

I am a recent graduate of the denver">University of Denver with an Anthropology degree. I was the recipient of the Chancellor's academic-merit scholarship and was named to the Dean's list each quarter of my academic year. Graduating a year early, I have spent time doing archaeological field work. With the eventual goal of becoming a professor, I want to gain teaching experience prior to pursuing my Master's in Forensic Anthropology.

My denver">tutoring experience began as a member and then officer of my high school's National Honor Society, providing academic to other students twice-weekly. I further honed my denver">tutoring skills as a nanny, providing homework help and study skills assistance to elementary and middle school-age children in my care. I also organized study groups and provided one-on-one assistance to my other peers throughout college, particularly in difficult classes such as Environmental Systems and Quantitative Anthropology.

As a gifted student, I have always learned at a different pace and understood topics in different ways that my peers. I understand the need for individualized learning, whether that is due to high academic achievement, non-traditional learning styles, or trouble with a particular subject. As a denver">tutor, I foster a can-do attitude in all my students. Everyone is capable of learning; you just need to learn the specific strategies and explanations that work for you. I strive to instill strong study skills, a sense of creative problem-solving, and self-reliance. As opposed to looking for others to give or guide them to the answers, I work with my students to create and practice techniques that lead them to the solutions, giving them confidence and encouraging a love for learning.
