Fun Facts
I've been playing the trumpet since 3rd grade all the way through college. At Brandeis, I was the lead trumpet for the Mad Band and Top Score ensembles. I've also been a competitive artistic roller skater. When I'm not tutoring, you can find me playing video games on my Switch or curled up with a good book.
About Me
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, with a B.A. in Economics and science/california/los-angeles">Computer Science. I was on the Dean's list and earned a merit scholarship for all 4 years.
Experience
I loved the year I spent as a teaching assistant for a science/california/los-angeles">computer science course at Brandeis, so I decided to keep doing it. For the past two summers, I have worked for the YMCA at a charter high school, helping incoming 9th-grade students prepare for high school. As a part of this program, I was a teaching assistant for English and Geometry classes. I also volunteered for three years providing after-school tutoring and activities for children from kindergarten through 6th grade.
Approach
As a teacher, I focus on a growth mindset. Students’ abilities aren’t fixed, so it’s important for me to help them improve over time and work towards where they want to be. I also like to emphasize learning strategies and methods for how to solve a problem. I teach my students the tools they need, so that they can solve problems on their own.
