Fun Facts
I was born in Hong Kong and lived there until I was 16. My parents were journalists in Asia. I lived in Spain for 11 years and I love to dance dance salsa and bachata.
About Me
I am a former musician who then went on to teach Spanish at the college level for 23 years.
Experience
I began teaching ESL in Spain in the 1980s and subsequently became a Spanish teacher after getting a Ph.D in Spanish. I taught Spanish at both St. Mary's College of Maryland and at Northern Virginia Community College until 2012 when I retired from full-time teaching. I began columbia/washington">tutoring online during the pandemic.
Approach
My classes are always student-centered. I take into account individual learning styles and incorporate a variety of communicative techniques in all my classes, including videos and music.
