Fun Facts
I love reading and making art. Outside of school and work, I am a book reviewer for various types of genres (literary fiction, fantasy, historical fiction, etc.) I also enjoy creating art; I am a traditional artist who specializes in hyperrealistic portrait art.
About Me
I graduated SJSU with a B.S. in Accounting and I am currently working on my M.S. in Library Information Science at the same institution. I worked in art and art education prior to accounting and I have found that education and learning is my true passion. As such, I have returned to school to major in Library Information Science with the goal of becoming a Youth Education Librarian.
Experience
I have experience working with students of all ages while I was at Kumon Learning Center, and I have enriched my experience with art education at the San Jose Museum of Art working with students from various backgrounds and education. I have tutored in math and English, and I have also done museum and gallery tours with K-12 students at the museum using Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) to develop critical thinking and analyzing skills through art.
Approach
I believe that every student is interested in learning and they all have different learning styles. As a sister to a younger sibling with ADHD and learning differences, I have researched and understood that every student has a unique approach to learning that teachers and tutors can help cultivate to help them succeed and grow. My approach to learning is patience and passion. If teachers and tutors can make learning accessible and relatable for students, they will learn to love learning.
