I have 16 first cousins! I have been around kids my whole life and love having a big family!
About Me
I am a 4th-grade teacher in Lawrence, MA and have been teaching for 8 years there. I got my undergraduate degree at Western New England University in Elementary Education and Psychology. I got my master's degree at Salem State University in Reading. My current class is 26 students with several students on IEPs and behaviour plans, some of which I created to ensure my student's success in the classroom. I am currently the lead teacher of my grade, so I have a lot of additional responsibilities within the grade. In this role I attend additional professional developments, make changes/adjustments to the curriculum, create different awards throughout the year for the grade, run weekly curriculum meetings for the team, and much more.

As lead teacher this year I have created three 4th grade writing units.
Approach
As a teacher, I think that building a relationship with your students is very important. I also believe that a student's social and emotional needs are most important for them to be successful in academics.

I have taken a college level elementary math class and passed the Massachusetts educator math test. I have also been teaching math to 4th graders at all levels for 8 years.
