About Me
At present, I am a Literacy Interventionist finishing up the current school year and preparing for summer school. I'm truly blessed to be a blessing so it has become my heart's desire to continue assisting members of the community who struggle to read. I am here to help others to succeed and to develop the same love for reading that I have!!!
Experience
In 2013 I landed my first tutoring position which ended around 2017 when my student left the program & went on to graduate high school. I volunteered as a Reading Tutor after being laid off in February 2019 and was subsequently hired in January 2020. Then Covid reared its ugly head. In September 2022, after being out of work since March 2020, I decided it was time to get back in the saddles and start tutoring again. I am so glad I did because Tutor life is so rewarding!!!

Reading Tutoring
My tutoring experience began in 2013 when I was paired with my middle school scholar. I was not only her tutor; I became her mentor; the "big sister" she didn't have. We established a great rapport as we met every Saturday for three years. When she left the program, she had more confidence and increased self esteem. She credits me with helping her grow into the young lady she is today; a high school graduate and beauty school student. I look forward to making a difference in the lives of others.
Basic Computer Skills Tutoring
I have not been blessed to tutor adults yet, but I believe I have plenty to offer those willing to put in the work to improve their reading skills, one word at a time!!!
