Fun Facts

I'm passionate about nerd culture! I love video games, anime, and fiction novels. I grew up reading YA novels, and Rick Riordan is one of my biggest inspirations. I'm currently working on a YA fantasy novel, and I published my first five chapters for my grad thesis. I go to the gym regularly and practice Muay Thai and boxing. I am the only child, and my parents are back in Hong Kong.

About Me

I am a recent graduate of charlotte">UNC Charlotte with a Master of Arts, majoring in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. I've been on the Dean's List at UNC Greensboro in 2017, and am a member of the Sigma Tau Delta Honors Society. I was born and raised in Hong Kong, and I've been in the States since 2016. I speak English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and a little bit of Japanese and French. I hope someday I can attend an MFA Program to further perfect my writing.

Experience

I've tutored elementary/middle school-aged kids in ESL and creative writing and used to be a camp counsellor at YMCA Hong Kong. I also tutored fellow students during my time at UNC Greensboro and charlotte">UNC Charlotte, where I helped clients become the best writers that they can be. Ever since I graduated from charlotte">UNC Charlotte and left the writing centre, I miss working with students and helping them improve. Working for Frog Tutoring might just be the perfect opportunity for me!

Approach

Growing up, I often found writing a daunting task, and my teachers and tutors never gave up on me. They were understanding of my needs and my attitude towards learning and accommodated me to facilitate my learning. I take a step-by-step approach to learning; I don't expect students to know everything or immediately grasp a difficult concept. Instead, I try my best to help them through their own learning process, and I do my best to be understanding of the student's needs. I've been where they're
