One passion people learn about me is how much I love going on adventures, learning about different cultures, and traveling.
About Me
Hello,
My name is Ayesha Jean. I was born in Haiti, and I moved to the United States in hopes of a better life and education. From a young age, I learned to speak Haitian Creole, English, and Spanish. Knowing these languages came to my advantage because I can use them to help other individuals when in need. Starting in middle school, I went into Varsity and basketball cheerleading as well as band till the end of High school. In high school, I auditioned for the marching and symphonic band as a flute player. I successfully balanced my cheer, band, extracurricular activities, and school life. I prioritized my time well. I was in the Technical Honor Society, which I had to complete an internship for. I did an internship at a government shelter that served individuals in need. I worked as a receptionist, tutor, and website programmer, and I worked in the food store they had. Even after I finished my internship there, I continued going to serve and volunteer. I maintained my grades and extracurricular activities while being Vice-President of the FCCLA club. I graduated high school with a 4.0 and honors.
While attending the University of North Georgia, I continued tutoring whenever I was able to. I created my own study/tutoring group where I helped other students with lessons from class such as Psychology, Sociology, Social Psychology, etc. I also worked at an all-girls group home where I made a tremendous difference not only with my positive energy but also with my tutoring skills. The girls who were failing could raise their grades to pass after retaking tests and completing skip assignments. Tutoring is an important aspect of one’s education because it can ensure students who need help with their classes can get the help they need. My lessons are exciting, refreshing, and eye-opening. Learning is meant to be fun, which is what my classes are always like. :)
Experience
As a member of the Technical Honor Society and various other organizations in my school, I can help students bi-weekly with learning materials, homework, and so on. I also have experience in mentoring youth by providing life skills and being a good listener.
Approach
As a bilingual child born in a different country, I know how difficult it is for students who struggle to understand the material learned in school. I take it upon myself to help those students with writing and testing strategies to understand the material better and ace exams and tests.
