I am originally from South Florida born and raised. I worked in Detroit Public Schools for a year while living in Michigan during a gap year and during the pandemic. I babysit small humans in my free time!

About Me

Hi! My name is Kay, I am 25. I have a passion for working with kids. I am currently a full-time licensed Middle School Special Education Educator in Chicago Public Schools on the West Side. I have worked in Chicago Public Schools supporting grades 3rd - 8th with ELA/ Reading and Math for the last 2 (almost 3) years.

Experience

I have worked in the classroom with grades 3rd - 8th with ELA/ Reading and Math for 4 years. I have roughly 8 years of experience in tutoring and running inventions with students in Kindergarten - 5th grade in a range of subjects from ELA to Math. I can help with homework or any skills you need/want your child to work on.

Approach

As a child, I struggled in school, especially math. My family and I moved constantly, meaning I switched schools constantly, so I often had many gaps in my learning. I went to 5 different Elementary Schools, 2 Middle Schools, and 1 Magnet High School before getting a full ride into a University.
