Fun Facts

I have a passion for traveling and languages. A great recent experience was as a substitute high school science teacher in Budapest, Hungary. I also have a background in neuroscience education and research. I do community outreach in neuroscience education at the middle and high school levels in Portland and have presented our work in New Orleans and San Diego! I am an avid snowboarder and all-around outdoors explorer.

I am currently working towards my Master's in Education at PSU.

About Me

I'm Elias - I am a state-certified (OR) teacher and have been working as an educator for over 15 years. I have mostly work at the high school and university level, but have experience with young students as well. I am also trained in working with students special needs. I am a certified SAT/ACT/GRE instructor, and am also a certified college prep counselor.

Experience

I have been working as an educator for over 15 years, and in many different settings. Classrooms and 1-1 private education as well as leading seminars and various other endeavors.

Approach

I take pride in and enjoy the challenge of bringing a light-hearted, yet focused and goal-oriented approach with my students - especially those struggling to find the joy in classes that not everyone might enjoy...

My teaching methodology is built around a 1-1 individual style carefully catered to each student, working to improving confidence in the best way for to learn the material - for them specifically.
