Fun Facts
I find the Persian language fascinating and have made efforts to become fluent in it. I'm also interested in learning other related languages, such as Arabic and Hebrew. Language learning in general just fascinates me but I have a particular interest in languages that are the most different from English.
About Me
I am a math major at the University of Oklahoma. I'm pursuing a job in the actuarial field and I love to build things as a hobbyist, whether it's an RV submarine, an intelligent assistant (Jarvis) or remaking a puzzle from the Resident Evil games using electronics. I believe anyone can be an inventor and that it just takes the right projects and enough time to be able to truly unleash your creativity on the world.
Experience
I've been a tutor at the University of Oklahoma Math Center for 2 years, during which I've taken on many private clients as well as tutored well above the courses offered in the math centre for students that requested it.
My speciality is in STEM courses. I've self-studied AP Chemistry, AP Calculus BC, and others. In my junior year, I took 17 AP exams. While I wouldn't recommend doing so, it gave me valuable insight into the learning process and how we actually understand new concepts.
Approach
My approach to tutoring has always been to focus on conceptual understanding of the concept by the student and to utilize Socratic questioning to help lead the student to the correct choice rather than focus on pattern recognition in problem-solving. I believe that in understanding how we got to the solution to a respectable depth, remembering how to solve the problem is now rooted in past understanding rather than floating around un-tethered in the mind.

Math Tutoring
I've tutored at my University's Math Center for 2 years. I've covered anything from College Algebra to DIfferential Equations. Officially, that's what's covered at the Math Center. However, I very regularly helped students with Partial Differential Equations, Abstract Algebra, Real Analysis, and other higher level math courses.
