I was born on a ranch and have lived in huge cities and tiny rural towns. I love the mountains and the glorious country in the southwestern US. I love to make jam, explore, travel, and sing.

About Me

My background includes work as a lawyer, project manager, non-profit executive director, food service worker, technical writer, high school teacher, and college instructor. I never could decide what I wanted to be when I grew up!

Experience

As a high school teacher and college instructor for over a decade, I have tutored hundreds of students of all ages. I have also trained professionals on the job. In addition, I have been responsible for professional documentation in numerous projects and programs. Most recently, I have tutored ESL students who are learning English.

Approach

When teaching writing, I first learn how the student thinks. Then I help them understand what they need to do to produce writing for college for for the professional world. Writing is one of the most important skills you can have. I use every tool to help the student succeed: oral and written instructions, examples, graphs, exercises, whatever works.
