About Me
Hello,
My name is Jason Rhodes. I am 38 years old, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and a graduate of Millersville University with a degree in history. When I started tutoring, I immediately knew this was a field I wished to pursue. Now, seven years later, I still love to tutor.
One of the benefits of tutoring is watching the growth and contributing to the increase in confidence of a student. Additionally, making positive, educational relationships with the student is rewarding, and beneficial to their development.
I also have good listening skills, enabling me to understand issues or problems a student may be struggling with. Finally, what makes me a good tutor is enthusiasm. Becoming excited about a subject is infectious to a student.
Experience
For the last 7 years, I have been a professional, private tutor for 3 different companies. I've worked with ages 4 to Adults for dozens of different subjects and curriculums. I've worked with students with IEPs, reading difficulties, behavioural difficulties, advanced students, and home-schooled students. I was not the best student in middle and high school. I struggled to care and put in the extra effort to excel. It was one of the reasons I was signed up for the military before graduating high school. Once I started college, I began to learn the importance of education and I began to understand the struggles school students were experiencing which were similar to my own during my schooling.
