About Me

I am an elementary school educator providing instructional and behavioural support for the 4th grade. I write, plan, and teach ELA and writing in a departmentalized setting. I plan to pursue a master's in education at Texas Women's University in the upcoming year.

Experience

As an educator, I have an opportunity to prepare students to perform at their grade level and for campus and state assessments. My experience equips me to analyze potential misconceptions, create a path for explicit instruction and modelling, and gradually release students to practice skills independently. Working for Frog Tutoring allows me to support students and ensure the learning gaps are closing among students.

Approach

As an elementary student, I struggled in content areas and did not feel supported in areas I needed development in. With the students I serve, I monitor their progress to ensure their goals are achieved and check in academically and emotionally to ensure they are secure in their work and abilities. I begin my lessons by front-loading the content they are expected to learn by going over vocabulary words, and definitions, and providing clue words and supplemental aids.
