Fun Facts
I've always had a love for animals! I have had two Russian Tortoises since the age of thirteen, A black cat named Horatio (shout-out to Hamlet) and a Leopard Gecko named Fredricka. My love for animals translated to me being outdoors often growing up, and being active and in nature always brightens my day! I lived in Montana for 3 mos. backpacking, hiking, and camping. Being outdoors with my husband and daughter always brings me joy!
About Me
I am a Middle School Science and Engineering Design Teacher in Indianapolis. I previously taught High School Biology and wanted to have the opportunity to teach Middle School students. STEM education is extremely important to me and the skills needed to be successful with STEM subject matter are definitely transferrable to the "real world". I love STEM so much, that I am currently pursuing a second bachelor's in Engineering!
Experience
I have been an educator for 3 years in a variety of educational settings. I have also tutored in the past in my own time and with my students at the schools that I taught at. I understand how valuable one-on-one instruction can be for a student. Sometimes, it's exactly what a student needs to see positive results in the classroom. Working for Frog Tutoring gives me the opportunity to have a greater impact on students from everywhere and of different ages. I love sharing my love of learning!
Approach
Students learn differently and at different paces. I have learned that as I have worked with students at charter, public, and private schools. My approach to assisting students in achieving their academic goals is to first learn about the students and how they learn best. From there, I develop supplemental material to assist them in their learning process.
