Fun Facts
I've always been a strong leader and team member. I aspire to work with a dedicated team of scientists, who are ready to make a ground-breaking discovery. I've taken eight laboratory courses, which have equipped me with a strong understanding of how to conduct laboratory experiments. I am currently conducting research at the miami">University of Miami - Miller School of Medicine. In my spare time, I enjoy reading current science journals, watching football on Sunday, and attending social gatherings.
About Me
I am a senior Biology major at the miami">University of Miami. I've been on the Dean's List, Provost's List, or Honor Roll all four years at UM. When I graduate, I hope to attend the miami">University of Miami: Miller School of Medicine to earn my medical doctorate. My ultimate goal is to become an anesthesiologist.
Experience
As a miami">tutor for a program known as "Stay on the Field," I had the opportunity to miami">tutor students weekly in all subject areas during my junior and senior year of high school. Upon entering college, my passion for miami">tutoring was reignited, so I volunteered as an America Read's miami">Tutor. I tutored elementary school children at the local community center. Working with Frog miami">Tutoring gives me the opportunity to expand my range to clients all over Miami.
Approach
I follow a five step method when miami">tutoring:
(1) understand the student and their struggles with the subject matter
(2) review the material they learn for the week
(3) provide a small quiz on the key concepts to understand the students weak areas
(4) go over those weak during the rest of the session
(5) quiz them on last weeks material at the start of a new session to make sure they comprehend what is going on
